How much does custom software cost?
Real USD ranges by project type, the factors that push the price up or down, and what a serious quote should include.
In short
In short: how much does custom software cost?
Honest USD ranges: landing page or corporate site USD 2,500-6,000, MVP from USD 5,000 (from USD 12,000 for a simple mobile app), complete mobile app USD 12,000-40,000+ and custom management system USD 9,000-50,000+ depending on module count. Price depends mainly on how many modules the system has, what it integrates with, and how many users it serves — and it should be locked in as a fixed price before you start, not billed hourly.
Cost table
Price ranges by project type
2026 market ranges for teams based in Argentina or LATAM. Every project is quoted individually based on its real scope.
| Project type | Typical scope | Price range (USD) | Typical timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landing page / website | Conversion landing page or corporate site, no custom backend | USD 2,500 – 6,000 | 3–6 weeks |
| MVP (minimum viable product) | Minimal functional version to validate with real users | From USD 5,000 (from USD 12,000 for a simple mobile app) | 8–12 weeks |
| Mobile app | iOS/Android with React Native; backend, push and admin panel for full apps | USD 12,000 – 40,000+ | 6–12 weeks |
| Custom management system | ERP, CRM, sales, inventory, billing or BI, depending on module count | USD 9,000 – 50,000+ | 3–18 months |
Note: these are "starting from" reference ranges, not a quote. The final price depends on the real scope reviewed in a free, no-obligation discovery call.
Cost factors
What moves the price
- 01
Number and complexity of modules
Each module adds its own discovery, design, development and testing. A system with 3 simple modules can cost half as much as one with 8 complex modules, even if they 'look the same' on the surface.
- 02
Integrations with external systems
Payment gateways, WhatsApp Business API, tax authorities, legacy ERPs without a documented API. Each integration carries its own technical complexity.
- 03
Number and type of users
A system for 5 internal users is simpler than one with a public portal for hundreds of external clients, because of role, permission and session management.
- 04
Level of UX/UI design
A basic functional interface costs less than a polished, responsive experience. When design matters — a client portal, a public-facing app — it can add 15-30% to the total cost.
- 05
Methodology: fixed price vs. hourly
With a fixed price, the vendor absorbs the risk of overruns. With hourly billing, you do. Always ask for a closed fixed price agreed before work starts.
- 06
Team experience
A senior team costs more per hour but delivers faster with less rework. A price far below market, not a high price, is usually the real warning sign.
What the project price should include
- Process and requirements discovery
- Solution design (UX/UI and architecture)
- Development with partial deliveries every 1-2 weeks
- Functional testing before every delivery
- Data migration if you're coming from an existing system or spreadsheets
- Go-live and team training
Recurring costs not part of the initial price
-
Hosting / infrastructure
USD 20-100/month depending on system size (AWS, DigitalOcean or another provider).
-
Monthly maintenance
From USD 150/month: bug fixes, security updates and minor improvements.
-
New modules or major features
Quoted as separate projects when they exceed the original scope.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does custom software development cost?
It depends on scope. A landing page or corporate site runs USD 2,500-6,000; an MVP starts at USD 5,000 (or USD 12,000 for a simple mobile app); a complete mobile app runs USD 12,000-40,000+; and a custom management system (ERP, CRM, sales, inventory) runs USD 9,000-50,000+ depending on the number of modules. The price is set in a proposal before work starts.
Why is there such a big price difference between quotes for the same project?
Differences in methodology (fixed price vs. hourly), technology choices, team experience, and what's actually included. A low quote that skips discovery, testing or training can end up costing more than a higher quote that includes them.
What does the price of a custom system include?
A serious quote includes process discovery, solution design, development, testing, data migration if needed, and go-live with training. Ongoing maintenance is a separate monthly cost, typically starting at USD 150/month.
How much does maintenance cost after delivery?
Monthly maintenance starts at USD 150 and covers bug fixes, security updates and minor improvements. Every Deepyze project also includes a bug-fix warranty at no extra cost after delivery.
Is a very low price a good sign?
Not necessarily. A well-scoped, well-built management system rarely costs a fraction of these ranges. A price far below market usually means the vendor didn't properly scope the project, or is going to deliver something incomplete that needs to be redone.
How does an hourly quote compare to a fixed-price quote?
They aren't directly comparable. A fixed price of USD 15,000 compares to another fixed price, not to an estimate of '200 hours at USD 60, could run higher.' With a fixed price, the risk of the project running long sits with the vendor, not with you.
Do these prices apply outside Argentina?
The ranges are in USD and reflect the 2026 market for teams based in Argentina or LATAM, which tend to offer a better price-to-quality ratio than US or Western European vendors for the same level of technical quality.
